The local documentary heritage, preserved in Granada's historical archives, represents not only a fundamental component of the region's cultural heritage, but also constitutes an essential resource for teaching history and civic education. This study focuses on analysing how Granada's local documentary heritage can be used as a valuable educational tool for civic education within the field of social science teaching. It emphasises its capacity to enhance critical skills, reinforce collective identity and stimulate social participation. However, it also addresses certain limitations, including the difficulties of directly consulting the sources, the need to advance their digitisation and the importance of incorporating subaltern perspectives, proposing an inclusive approach that contributes to education.

El patrimonio documental local, conservado en archivos históricos de Granada representa no solo un componente fundamental del patrimonio cultural de la región, sino que también constituye un recurso imprescindible para la enseñanza de la historia y la formación ciudadana. Este estudio se centra en analizar cómo el patrimonio documental local de Granada puede ser aprovechado como una herramienta pedagógica valiosa para la formación ciudadana dentro del ámbito de la didáctica de las ciencias sociales. Se enfatiza su capacidad para potenciar competencias críticas, reforzar la identidad colectiva y estimular la participación social. No obstante, también se abordan ciertas limitaciones, entre ellas las dificultades para la consulta directa de las fuentes, la necesidad de avanzar en su digitalización y la importancia de incorporar perspectivas subalternas, proponiendo un enfoque inclusivo que contribuya a una educación.
