Description
This paper aims to analyze the mythical character Paris Alexander in four Pindar’s poems: Pythian 6, Fr. 120 (encomium), Paean 6 and Paean 8a.For that, I will compare the mythical narratives presented in these melic songs, as well their poetic language, with other sources, especially Homer. In this way, it hopes to find possible traditional traces and/or innovation, which will permit pondering about the pindaric Paris characterization and its different facets, and how it relates with the overall objectives of the song.
O presente trabalho busca analisar o personagem mítico Páris Alexandre em quatro poemas de Píndaro, sendo eles a Pítica 6, o Fr. 120 (encômio), o Peã 6 e o Peã 8a. Para isso, compararemos a narrativa mítica desenvolvida nesses cantos mélicos, bem como sua construção poética, com outras fontes, especialmente Homero. Dessa forma, procuramos identificar possíveis ecos tradicionais e/ou inovações, que nos permitirá refletir sobre a caracterização do(s) Páris pindárico(s) e suas diferentes facetas, e como ela se relaciona com os objetivos gerais da canção.
