No âmbito da prática profissional inserida no Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar, efectuou-se um projecto de intervenção no espaço de recreio do Jardim de Infância do Agrupamento de escolas do Monte da Ola. Neste estudo procurou-se analisar a influência desta intervenção no comportamento lúdico-motor das crianças. Para o efeito, optou-se por utilizar uma metodologia de natureza mista, predominantemente quantitativa. A amostra foi constituída por 19 crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 4 e os 6 anos. Os dados foram recolhidos através de uma observação estruturada sobre o comportamento lúdico-motor, uma entrevista sobre as suas preferências lúdicas e por último recorreu-se aos registos gráficos das crianças relativamente ao espaço de recreio, antes e depois da intervenção. Os resultados evidenciaram que a intervenção no espaço de recreio contribuiu para um comportamento motor activo e socializador das crianças. Constatou-se ainda que as crianças envolveram-se mais em actividades de locomoção do que em actividades posturais e de manipulação de objectos. As actividades lúdico-motoras mais realizadas e preferidas pela totalidade das crianças foram o jogo dos quatro-cantinhos e o jogo da macaca. No entanto, os resultados sugerem uma diferenciação de géneros quanto às actividades lúdico-motoras realizadas e preferidas. As raparigas privilegiaram o jogo da macaca seguindo-se o jogo dos quatro-cantinhos, enquanto os rapazes participaram preferencialmente em jogos de manipulação de objectos, como o jogo dos quatro-cantinhos, o jogo de futebol e o jogo da rabia. Através dos registos gráficos das crianças constatou-se uma mudança na percepção estética e funcional do recreio após a intervenção. Em suma, pode-se concluir que a intervenção tornou o espaço de recreio mais acolhedor, atractivo e promoveu o jogo social e o jogo da actividade física das crianças.

In the context of the professional practice included in the Master of Education Pre-School, an intervention project in the playground of the kindergarten group of schools of Monte da Ola was made. This study sought to analyze the influence of this intervention on the children’s recreational motor behavior. To do so, a mixed methodology predominantly quantitative, was chosen. The sample was comprised of 19 children aged between 4 and 6 years. Data was collected through a structured observation of the recreational motor behavior, an interview regarding their recreational preferences and finally the graphic records of the children’s recreational motor behavior, before and after the intervention. The results showed that the intervention contributed to an active motor behavior and socialization of the children. It was further observed that children engaged in more locomotion and stationary activities than in object manipulation. The recreational motor behavior activities most performed and preferred by all the children were the game of four-squares and hopscotch. However, the results suggest a gender difference regarding the activities undertaken and the recreational motor behavior preferred. The girls favored hopscotch followed by the four-corners, while the boys preferred object manipulation games, such as the four-squares, football and throwing and catching. Through the children’s graphic records a change in perception of the aesthetic and functional playground afterwards was found. In short, it can be concluded that the intervention made the playground more welcoming, attractive and promoted the children’s social games and physical activity play.
