O presente trabalho tem como objetivo pesquisar a constituição da personagem no romance Lorde (2004), de João Gilberto Noll, por meio de aspectos temáticos e estruturais. O escritor gaúcho faz, por meio da personagem de Lorde, um esboço do ser humano inserido na sociedade ocidental do século XXI, traduzindo-lhe as mazelas existenciais num indivíduo desfigurado, anônimo e transitório. Para empreender o estudo das características do homem contemporâneo, como a errância, as transmutações e a desmemorialização, analisaremos, distintamente, o papel da personagem e do narrador nos planos narrativo e diegético, assim como, a relação entre história, espaço e tempo e os quesitos que compõem a estrutura da narrativa. Para tanto, utilizaremos como aparato teórico, entre outros, os estudos de Gérard Genette, George Lukács, Lucien Goldmann, Aguiar e Silva, Yves Reuter e Massaud Moisés.

The present work has with objective research the formation of character in romance Lorde (2004), of João Gilberto Noll, through the thematic and structural aspects. The writer gaucho makes, through the Lorde character, an outline of the human being within the Western society of the XXI century, translating to the existential wounds in a disfigured individual, anonymous and transient. To undertake the study of the characteristics of contemporary man, such as wandering, the transmutations and desmemorialization, we analyze separately the role of the character and the narrator in the narrative and diegetic planes, as well as the relationship between history, space and time and the requirements that make up the structure of the narrative. Therefore, we will use as theoretical apparatus, among others, the studies of Gérard Genette, George Lukács, Lucien Goldmann, Aguiar e Silva, Yves Reuter and Massaud Moisés.
