The present study retrieves the history of the Artistic Education Course of the Education Center, this study revealing the professional habilities of their teachers and formation. The analisis the curricular planes since this creation until it s extinction. The theorycal reference build at to articulate with the talkes of teachers heard in interviews realized. This study to make too a reflexion of the pedagogia pratices and professionalizing adopted with the students of the Artistic Education Course.

O presente estudo resgata a história do Curso de Educação Artística da Universidade Federal da Paraíba, revelando os perfis profissionais de seus professores, sua formação e o processo formativo dos alunos do Curso de Educação Artística. Analisa o fluxograma curricular do Curso desde sua criação até sua extinção, construindo um referencial teórico tecido de forma articulada com as falas dos professores formadores, ouvidos em entrevistas realizadas. Observamos no processo da pesquisa, a situação de dualidade entre o artista e o professor, bem como a fragilidade entre teoria e as práticas pedagógicas profissionalizantes adotadas com os alunos que cursam Educação Artística.
