Esta dissertação é uma continuidade ao Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso de Bacharelado em História da UFPel, defendido e aprovado em 2014, intitulado “Mísulas de Kilpeck: O discurso da dualidade e o hibridismo iconográfico entre o Paganismo e o Cristianismo no século XII”, sendo ampliada a análise para elementos do interior da igreja (abside) e do portal, incluindo a ornamentação do tímpano. Deste modo aprofundando a compreensão dos elementos iconográficos da arquitetura de Kilpeck, analisando o conjunto interno e externo, deseja-se uma visão mais significativa sobre a constituição da religiosidade nesta região e a utilização da iconografia em um prédio religioso, levando-se em conta a localização e as representações. Através da análise detalhada da iconografia é possível perceber as várias “Idades Médias” que constituíram o período medieval, dividido em diversos contextos regionais, o que suplanta a ideia de uma cultura homogenia determinada pelo poder da Igreja. Esta análise pretende dar destaque aos processos regionais de sincretismo cultural, partindo da ideia de uma circularidade cultural, onde as populações locais também possuíam importância para a construção dos prédios religiosos, fazendo com que a Igreja tivesse de fazer concessões para preservar sua influência entre determinadas realidades locais.

This dissertation is a continuation of the research to obtain a Bachelor Degree in History, of the UFPel, defended and approved in 2014, titled “Corbels of Kilpeck: The discourse of duality and the iconographic hybridism between Paganism and Christianity in the 12th century”, where the analysis of the elements from the interior of the church (apse) and portal, including the ornamentation of the tympanum, is expanded. In this way, a we found a deeper understanding of the iconographic elements of Kilpeck's architecture, analyzing the internal and external set, which presents us with a more significant view on the constitution of religiosity in this region and the use of iconography in a religious building, taking into account the location and the representations. Through the detailed analysis of the iconography, it is possible to perceive the various “Middle Ages” that constituted the medieval period, divided in several regional contexts, which supplants the idea of a homogenous culture determined by the power of the Church. This analysis intends to emphasize the regional processes of cultural syncretism, starting from the idea of a cultural circularity, where the local populations also had importance for the construction of religious buildings, causing the Church to make concessions to preserve its influence in certain local realities.
