Nos últimos anos, os países da América Latina tem (re) visitado suas histórias vinculadas ao passado recente com ênfase nos episódios relacionados às ditaduras cívico-militares. No Brasil, este compromisso com a memória tardou a se fortalecer na agenda pública em relação aos demais países vizinhos. No entanto, a luta pela memória, verdade e justiça sempre estiveram presentes, sobretudo no universo das vítimas e de seus familiares. Neste processo de (re) construção pública desta memória, se tem destacado um novo sujeito memorial que é a juventude, aqui classificada como a 3ª geração de memória, que não possuí qualquer vinculação com os primeiros grupos. Neste sentido, esta investigação busca problematizar como têm ocorrido esses movimentos “em prol da memória” e principalmente uma de suas expressões: os escrachos.
In the last few years, the Latin American countries have dived into their recent histories, especially in the chunks where there had previously been a military dictatorship. In Brazil, this commitment with memory took long to get strong enough among the public opinion if compared to its neighbors. However, striving for memory, sooth and justice have always been present, chiefly wherein the victims and their relatives live. In the middle of this process of memory's public (re)construction, a new subject has arisen, which is youth - herein classified as 'third generation of memory', people who don't really have any attachment to the former groups. Hitherto, this research aims at understanding how these movements 'for memory' have occurred and, mainly, one of its chief devices for expression: the "escrachos"
