Atos de Subverter e (des)mascarar a imagem: TRANS-ferir, mutilar, fragmentar e (des)figurar é uma pesquisa, subsidiado pela CAPEs e por meio de concessão de bolsa pela FAPERGS, do PPGAV-Mestrado/CA/UFPel, linha de pesquisa processos de criação e poéticas do cotidiano, que discute questões relacionadas à violência infantil e à violação do corpo, através do desenvolvimento de procedimentos poéticos de subverter imagens fotográficas de crianças, animais e adultos, captadas da internet ou cedidas por colaboradores. Os procedimentos baseiam-se na “fotocópia-montagem”, uma técnica manual que transfere fragmentos de fotocópias recortadas, as quais, ao serem reconfiguradas, passam para outro suporte com a utilização de thinner, sugerindo, assim, uma figura mascarada em primeiro plano. Estas imagens podem ser conceituadas como “mestiças”. Outros procedimentos de transformar a imagem - cortar, raspar e mutilar - danificam e violam a sua superfície, por vezes, de forma grotesca, revelando a ideia de um corpo violado, (des)mascarando poeticamente a violência social, mas velando a identidade da vítima. Uso, assim, a reprodutibilidade técnica da imagem para disseminar minha mensagem artística e meus posicionamentos políticos. O desenvolvimento deste trabalho desempenha importante papel social, representando uma luta pelos direitos humanos, que precisa ser abordada por mais pesquisadores das Artes Visuais.

Acts of Subverting and (un)masking the image: TRANS-fer, mutilate, fragment and (dis)figure is a research of the PPGAV-Mestrado/CA/UFPel, research line creative processes and poetics of the everyday, with funding from CAPES/FAPERGS, which aims to discuss issues related to child abuse and violation of the body, through the development of poetic procedures that subvert photographic images of children, animals and people captured from the internet or donated by collaborators. The procedures are based on “photocopy-montage”, a manual transfer technique which uses fragments of cutout photocopies which, after being reconfigured, are displaced onto another support surface with the use of thinner, thus suggesting a masked figure in the foreground. These images can be conceived as “mestizo”. Other procedures of transforming an image - cutting, scraping and mutilating - damage and violate the image’s surface, often in a grotesque way, revealing the idea of a violated body, poetically (un)masking social violence, but veiling the identity of the victim. I use the image's technical reproductibility to disseminate my artistic message and political views. The development of this work has an important social role: to represent the struggle for human rights, which need to be addressed by more researchers in the Visual Arts.
