O presente estudo tem o objetivo de analisar como a universidade pode proporcionar aos discentes de Pós-Graduação o nível de inglês para o mercado de trabalho global atual. O referencial teórico apresentado buscou identificar as demandas de idioma estrangeiro no mercado de trabalho atual, partindo da discussão sobre internacionalização e globalização no ensino superior, do inglês como língua global, do English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) como ferramenta no processo de implementação de disciplinas em inglês nas universidades, e da relação entre Língua Inglesa e empregabilidade. Na pesquisa utilizou-se a técnica de estudo de caso, tendo como objeto os Programas de Pós-Graduação da UFPel com conceito 6 e 7 da CAPES. A abordagem foi qualitativa descritiva. A realização das entrevistas semiestruturadas com os Coordenadores selecionados, seguida da análise dos dados qualitativos por meio da abordagem interpretativa, pretendeu verificar se a Língua Inglesa é importante nesse nível de formação e que ações a UFPel poderia realizar para melhorar a habilidade de comunicação em Língua Inglesa dos discentes. Além disso, buscou verificar se os Coordenadores conhecem o EMI e se existem disciplinas ministradas em Língua Inglesa nos Programas. Identificou-se que os Programas estão em níveis diferentes no avanço da implementação de disciplinas, cursos e atividades acadêmicas desenvolvidas em Língua Inglesa. Ainda foi possível elaborar sugestões de melhorias e de novas ações que a UFPel poderá realizar para seguir a tendência da globalização no ensino superior, elevando o nível da instituição no cenário acadêmico a nível mundial.

This study aims to analyze how the university can provide Graduate students with the level of English for the current global job market. The theoretical framework presented sought to identify the foreign language demands in the current labor market, starting from the discussion on internationalization and globalization in higher education, English as a global language, English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) as a tool in the process of implementing English subjects in universities, and the relationship between English language and employability. The research used the case study technique, having as its object the UFPel Graduate Programs with CAPES concept 6 and 7. The approach was qualitative descriptive. The semistructured interviews with the selected Coordinators, followed by the analysis of qualitative data through the interpretative approach, aimed to verify if the English Language is important at this level of education and what actions UFPel could take to improve the level of English Language knowledge of the students. In addition, it sought to verify if the Coordinators know the EMI and if there are subjects taught in English Language in the Programs. It has been found that Programs are at different levels in advancing the implementation of English language subjects, courses and academic activities. It was also possible to elaborate suggestions for improvements and new actions that UFPel may take to follow the trend of globalization in higher education, raising the institution's level in the academic scenario worldwide.
