O objetivo do estudo foi analisar a metodologia de ensino do esporte na Educação Física escolar na cidade de Pelotas-RS. Professores das redes municipal e estadual responderam um questionário que abordou a metodologia preferencial para o ensino das modalidades esportivas coletivas. Seis docentes participaram da segunda etapa da pesquisa através da observação de três aulas. Os resultados mostraram que a grande parte dos professores ainda pauta sua intervenção no ensino do esporte a partir dos métodos tradicionais. Por outro lado, o subestudo mostrou a factibilidade da utilização de diferentes estruturas de jogo na iniciação das modalidades envolvidas. Os resultados apoiam a ideia de que esforços em termos de formação continuada na área da Pedagogia do Esporte são necessários.
The objective of the study was to analyze the teaching methodology of sports in Physical Education in Pelotas, Brazil. Teachers of municipal and state administration answered a questionnaire about preferred methodology for the teaching of collective sports. Eight teachers were selected for a sub study through the observation of three classes. The results showed that most teachers still bases its intervention in sport education from traditional methods. On the other hand, the sub study showed the feasibility of using different game structures involved in the initiation of sports. The results support the idea that efforts in terms of continuing education in the field of Sport Pedagogy are needed.
