The research investigated how students from the Federal University of Pelotas understand concepts of quadric surfaces from the use of Augmented Reality in the visualization of objects in the disciplines of Differential and Integral Calculus in Three-Dimensional Space. Were used the David Tall’s Advanced Mathematical Thinking theories as basis about the importance of visualization in the understanding of mathematical concepts, working specifically quadric surfaces. The methodology adopted was a qualitative approach through Action Research and the data collection was performed through observations, questionnaires and interviews. The results were discussed in the light of Lawrence Bardin's Content Analysis, from which three categories emerged: Disciplines and Curricula; Teaching Practices in Disciplines; Students, Learning, and Software Contributions. The results showed that the students obtained improvement when answering the questionnaires after the application of the Augmented Reality activity.
