A presente tese procura, à partir do livro Finnegans Wake, de James Joyce, fazer avançar as questões que envolvem o fim tanto no sentido de término quanto no de finalidade de uma psicanálise. Percorrendo e problematizando aquilo que da crítica literária se depurou desde 1939 data da conclusão do até então chamado por Joyce work in progress e interrogando, num paralelo topológico, o que se fixou, particularmente pelo ensino de Jacques Lacan, como os caminhos possíveis de uma psicanálise procuro passar pela pregnância própria ao imaginário, o que posso chamar de viés estórico, até diluí-la pela infinitização proposta pelo simbólico, que nomeio aqui como históricos e, enfim, derruir tudo com o advento do Real que o Finnegans Wake faz surgir como ex-tórico permitindo que o riso, no lugar da série e do sério, possa advir.

Abstract : The present thesis seeks, from James Joyce's book, Finnegans Wake, to advance the questions that involve the end both in the sense of the end and the purpose - of a psychoanalysis. Going through and problematizing that which has been debugged since 1939 the date of the conclusion of what had hitherto been called by Joyce work in progress - and interrogating, in a topological parallel, what was fixed, particularly by the teaching of Jacques Lacan, as the possible ways of a psychoanalysis, I try to pass through the pregnancy to the imaginary, which I can call a bias of estoric, until it is diluted by the infinitisation proposed by the symbolic, which I call here as historicals and, finally, to destroy everything with the advent of the Real that Finnegans Wake causes as ex-toric allowing the laughter, instead of the series and the serious, to wake.
