Este estudo propôs discutir sobre a Educação de Jovens e Adultos, suas contribuições e implicações a quem adere a esta modalidade de ensino. O objetivo foi verificar as contribuições na formação educacional e social de estudantes da EJA e analisar os desafios e a realidade desses estudantes na cidade de Arraias – TO. Como problemática atentou-se em investigar quais são as contribuições e implicações da EJA na formação educacional e social do estudante? Diante disso, para embasamento teórico apresenta-se uma discussão com autores que abordam a temática apresentada, como, Freire (1992;1999;2005), Soares (2001), Arroyo (2005), Oliveira e Nascimento (2015), Marques e Valadão (2016). Optou-se pela pesquisa básica, na perspectiva da abordagem qualitativa e seguiu o método da pesquisa exploratória e da pesquisa bibliográfica e foi possível por meio de uma pesquisa em campo. Em resultados, destacam-se os relatos de estudantes sobre os desafios encontrados ao aderirem a EJA e de professores que trabalham na área.
This study proposed to discuss on the Education of Young people and adults, its contributions and implications to those who adere taint is teaching modality. The objective was to verify the contributions in the educational and social education of EJA students and to analyze the challenges and reality of these students in the city of Arraias - TO. How problematic did we try to investigate the contributions and implications of the EJA in the educational and social formation of the student? Therefore, for theoretical basis, a discussion is presented with authors who address the theme presented, such as, Freire (1992;1999;2005), Soares (2001), Arroyo (2005), Oliveira and Nascimento (2015), Marques and Valadão (2016). We opted for basic research from the perspective of the qualitative approach and followed the method of exploratory research and bibliographic research and it was possible through an ethnographic study with field research. In the results, we highlight the reports of students about the challenges encountered when joining the EJA and teachers working in the area.
