O presente artigo tem por finalidade abordar o trabalho da Defensoria Pública do Estado do Tocantins na promoção da Educação em Direitos Humanos utilizando-se da metodologia quali-quantitativa, sob os aspectos de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. As interfaces da atuação da DPE-TO devem estar pautadas nas suas normativas para a construção de uma sociedade democrática com a cultura de Direitos Humanos, conforme preveem a Constituição Federal e a Lei complementar nº 80/1994. Nesse sentido, o artigo verificou que a instituição trabalha com projetos e ações que têm por finalidade promoverem a Educação em Direitos Humanos. Entretanto, os dados institucionais analisados demonstraram a redução da atuação conjunta do Núcleo de Defesa dos Direitos Humanos da DPE-TO com outras instituições nos últimos três anos, no que tange a promoção da Educação em Direitos Humanos.

This article aims to address the work of the Public Defender of the State of Tocantins with the promotion of Education in Human Rights, using the qualitative and quantitative methodology, under the aspects of a bibliographic and documentary research. As the interfaces of DPE's performance must be guided by its rules for the construction of a democratic society with a culture of human rights, as provided for in the Federal Constitution and in complementary Law No. 80/1994. In this sense, the verified article about the institution works with projects and actions that promote promoting Human Rights Education. However, the institutional data analyzed showed a reduction in the joint action of the Center for the Defense of Human Rights of the DPE-TO with other institutions in the last three years, without promoting Human Rights Education.
