O presente trabalho de conclusão de curso teve como objetivo compreender, por meio de uma pesquisa teórica-conceitual à luz de Freud, a relação entre o feminino e a maternidade, discutindo em que medida o referido autor estabelece esta ligação. Para tanto, abordou-se as representações da mulher na sociedade, dando destaque aos movimentos feministas em prol dos direitos sociais da mulher e as simbolizações relativas à figura da mulher associadas à maternidade, como único e constituinte destino da feminilidade. Posteriormente, buscou-se nos escritos de Freud e seus comentadores como se dá o Complexo de Édipo na menina e no menino, visando entender a relação que Freud teceu entre a constituição da subjetividade feminina e maternidade. Por fim, foram lançadas considerações sobre a relação da psicanálise e os estudos de gênero e sua importância para o desenvolvimento do conhecimento na teoria e clínica psicanalítica.

The present work of completion of the course aimed to understand, through a theoretical-conceptual research in the light of Freud, the relationship between the feminine and motherhood, discussing the extent to which the aforementioned author establishes this connection. To this end, we approached the representations of women in society, highlighting feminist movements in favor of women's social rights and the symbolizations related to the figure of women associated with motherhood, as the sole and constituent destiny of femininity. Subsequently, we sought in the writings of Freud and his commentators how the Oedipus Complex occurs in the girl and the boy, in order to understand the relationship that Freud wove between the constitution of female subjectivity and motherhood. Finally, considerations were made about the relationship between psychoanalysis and gender studies and their importance for the development of knowledge in psychoanalytic theory and clinic.
