A cultura é constituída pelo mundo cotidiano vivido por todos os seres humanos, onde todos se movimentam no território, cujas territorialidades se definem pelas diferenças culturais e onde o poder se manifesta. A geografia da religião estuda a territorialidade das manifestações religiosas e os aspectos geográficos locais. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é analisar a festa de São Sebastião, no Setor Guaxupé em Porto Nacional-TO, na perspectiva da geografia das religiões a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a temática geral e específica, de uma organização de imagens e fotografias e entrevistas com participantes dos festejos. Esta festa é vivenciada por meio de experiências que se exprimem com a ocorrência do rito religioso, permitindo aos devotos atos de fé e devoção durante as cerimônias festivas e se configura como um acontecimento, legitimando a ordem sociorreligiosa que os católicos têm, em sua própria realidade territorial.

Culture is constituted by the everyday world experienced by all human beings, where everyone moves in the territory, whose territorialities are defined by cultural differences and where power manifests itself. The geography of religion studies the territoriality of religious manifestations and the local geographic aspects. The general objective of this research is to analyze the São Sebastião party, in the Guaxupé Sector in Porto Nacional-TO, from the perspective of the geography of religions from a bibliographic review on the general and specific theme, an organization of images and photographs and interviews with participants in the festivities. This festival is lived through experiences that are expressed with the occurrence of the religious rite, allowing devotees to acts of faith and devotion during festive ceremonies and is configured as an event, legitimizing the socio-religious order that Catholics have, in their own reality territorial.
