A teoria das filas é um ramo de estudo da probabilidade, que tem como objetivo estudar a formação das filas, utilizando de modelos matemáticos precisos, além de modelos mensuráveis, com isso é possível elaborar modelos capazes de analisar o comportamento de serviços com demanda crescente, tornando possível dimensionar e oferecer um atendimento rápido e eficiente para os clientes. Neste sentido, o presente estudo buscou sintetizar a realidade no atendimento público em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde no Município de Muricilândia – TO, sob a perspectiva da teoria das filas. Buscou-se analisar o desempenho do serviço prestado e o tempo médio de espera dos pacientes, neste intuito, o presente estudo adotou o método de pesquisa exploratório com abordagem quantitativa através de uma análise documental de dados, que possibilitará avaliar a capacidade de atendimento da Unidade Básica de Saúde em questão, além de verificar o tempo médio de espera dos pacientes.

Queuing theory is a branch of probability study, which aims to study the formation of queues, using precise mathematical models, in addition to measurable models, with this it is possible to develop models capable of analyzing the behavior of services with increasing demand, making it possible to scale and offer fast and efficient service to customers. In this sense, the present study sought to synthesize the reality in public care in a Basic Health Unit in the Municipality of Muricilândia - TO, from the perspective of queuing theory. We sought to analyze the performance of the service provided and the average waiting time of patients. In this sense, the present study adopted the exploratory research method with a quantitative approach through a documentary analysis of data, which will enable the evaluation of the care capacity of the Basic Unit in question, in addition to checking the average waiting time for patients
