Este trabalho aborda conhecimentos básicos sobre a proteção de Sistemas Elétricos e Estruturas e as principais orientações fixadas pela norma ABNT 5419 – Proteção de Edificação contra Descargas Atmosféricas. Descreve ainda, de forma sucinta, a norma e a metodologia de cálculo associada à proteção, ressaltando também as principais alterações pertinentes à sua atualização ocorrida no ano de 2015. Objetivando salientar os efeitos das modificações ocorridas, apresentam-se cálculos da proteção de um sistema teste utilizando as versões de 2005 e 2015 da norma ABNT 5419.
This work addresses basic knowledge about the protection of Electrical Systems and Structures and the main guidelines established by the ABNT 5419 - Protection of Buildings from Atmospheric Discharge. It also briefly describes a standard and calculation methodology associated with protection, also highlighting the main suggestions for its updating in the year 2015. In order to emphasize the effects of the modifications, use the 2005 and 2015 versions of the ABNT 5419 standard.
