Description
Heat and temperatures are quantities that greatly influence machining processes. However, obtaining experimental heat and temperature results is not a simple task. Experimental, analytical and numerical methodologies have been proposed to overcome this challenge. In this context, this work aimed to simulate the temperature distribution during the drilling of a gray cast iron. For this, we used the commercial finite element softwares AdvantEdge The maximum temperature of the system was in the tool. The calorimetric method showed that 48% of the mechanical energy in machining was transformed into heat.TM of Third Wave Sistems. Experimental measurements were performed using a calorimetric methodology. The simulation results show that the software used is a useful tool to obtain the temperature distribution in the part, chip and cutting tool.
