Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar e contextualizar o conceito de terrorismo para Eugenio Diniz, com foco no modelo analítico de combate ao terror proposto pelo autor. É contemplada uma análise de caso da Al-Qaeda em suas atividades no ciberespaço relacionando elementos que abordam a importância da infraestrutura fornecida pela internet para a manutenção logística terrorista no século XXI. O uso da rede é eficaz para mobilizar recursos e alimentar sua trajetória ao realizar funções essenciais, como a manutenção da propaganda, recrutamento, treinamento, financiamento, organização e apoio político, com o intuito de atingir vasto número de pessoas que podem se solidarizar com a causa e passar a apoiá-la. O cruzamento da atuação do grupo com os elementos teóricos possibilita o entendimento da neutralização e desbaratamento de uma organização terrorista conforme indica Eugenio Diniz.
This article aims to present and contextualize the concept of terrorism in Eugenio Diniz’s point of view, focusing on the analytical model of terror combat proposed by the author. An analysis of the case contemplating Al-Qaeda’s cyberspace activities relating elements which approach the importance of the facilities provided by the internet for terrorist logistics maintenance in the 21st century. The use of the network is efficient to mobilize resources and feed its trajectory by accomplishing essential functions, such as publicity’s maintenance, recruitment, training, financing, organization and political support, in order to reach a vast number of people who can sympathize with the cause and start supporting it. Associating the role of the group with the theoretical elements enables the understanding of neutralization and breaking of a terrorist organization for Eugenio Diniz.
