This study focuses on the Capital Structure of consumer goods companies, operating in Brazil, between 2014 and 2018. For the analysis, some factors possibly determining the composition of the capital structure are considered: profitability, risk, size, composition of assets and growth. All data used as a basis were taken from the Economatica investment platform and the 57 selected companies are publicly traded. The statistical technique used is multiple linear regression (panel data). According to the obtained results, profitability and size factors have a negative relationship with debt, while risk and tangibility and immobilization of assets have a positive relationship. Regarding the relationship between growth and indebtedness, the observed relationship was not statistically significant.
