_______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

This work were divided in two parts, first we determined the He2 ground state potential energy curves (PEC) using the MRC’I (Multireference configuration interaction) and MRCI+Q (Multireference configuration interaction with Davidson correction) levels of calculations and aug-cc-pv6z basis set. These energies were fitted to Rydberg generalized analytical function with degrees varying from 4 to 10. Through these analytical functi¬ons, the first, vibrational energy (v = 0) was calculated solving the nuclear Schroodinger equation. It was verified that this level (v = 0) is localized above at the He2 dissociation limit. This fact suggests the absence of bound states to the electronic ground state of lie-2 molecule. In the second part of this study, we tested the CEPs built by Wang and collaborators for homonuclear molecules involving noble gases Ne (Xe2), Ar (Ar2), Kr (Kr2) and Xe (Xe2). This test consisted in the calculation of the vibrational energies for these PECs. The obtained results agreed very well with both experimental and theoretical results found in the literature.
