O trabalho proposto baseia-se na apresentação de três letras de músicas selecionadas da banda nacional Engenheiros do Hawaii e suas análises estilísticas, mostrando de que modo recursos como a intertextualidade, a polifonia e os jogos de palavras contribuíram para construir diferentes efeitos de sentido. Para isso, o trabalho procura mostrar também a importância do leitor para relacionar os elementos apresentados nas letras das músicas com outros textos de seu repertório, a fim de ampliar as diversas possibilidades de interpretação. Quanto maior o repertório do leitor, maior será sua capacidade de dialogar com outros textos, sejam textos lidos no passado ou diálogos que serão feitos com textos do futuro
The purpose of this work is the presentation of three lyrics of selected songs from the Brazilian national band Engenheiros do Hawaii and of a stylistic analysis showing how resources such as intertextuality, polyphony and word games helped building different effects of meaning. This work also attempts to show the importance of the reader in relating the elements presented in the lyrics with other texts of his/her repertoire, in order to expand the number of possible interpretations. The higher the repertoire of the reader, higher will be its ability to dialogue with other texts, considering both texts already read in the past or dialogues to be made with future texts
