As próteses imediatas são indicadas em casos pós-cirúrgicos de exodontias, a fim de se manter a estética, fonética e mastigação, além de evitar a perda de dimensão vertical de oclusão, impedir colapso labial, afundamento dos tecidos das bochechas e prevenir traumatismo sobre a ATM. O seu planejamento deve ser meticuloso, já que as próteses serão acrilizadas sem provas funcionais na boca do paciente. Assim, foi o intuito deste trabalho apresentar um relato de caso clínico focando o planejamento da prótese imediata de paciente que apresentava alguns dentes que posteriormente seriam utilizados como retentores de uma prótese overdenture, e que até determinado momento necessitaria de uma prótese imediata. Esta prótese seria utilizada para reestabelecer a parte funcional e estética, além de permitir o equilíbrio emocional, facilitando a continuidade da vida social. Com o tratamento proposto, o paciente se mostrou altamente receptivo e contente, ficando bastante satisfeito com as próteses imediatas. A prótese overdenture foi instalada posteriormente e o planejamento protético foi fundamental para o sucesso do tratamento
The immediate denture is indicated to post-surgical cases of tooth extractions, aiming maintenance of esthetic, phonetic and mastication, beyond avoiding loss of vertical dimension, labial and cheek collapse, and TMJ trauma. The planning of this denture must be meticulous, since the prosthesis will be polymerized without functional proof in the patient mouth. So, the aim of this case report was to show the planning of immediate denture of a patient that possessed some tooth that will be used as retention in the final overdenture. This denture will be used to reestablish aesthetics and function, allowing control of emotional fillings and facilitating social live. With the proposed treatment, the patient reported happiness, standing very satisfied with the immediate dentures. After, overdentures were installed and the prosthetic plannig was fundamental to treatment success
