The present study intended to investigate the sedimentation performance and its relation with the physical characteristics of flocculent particles. For this purpose, a water prepared with humic acid and coagulated with Aluminum Sulfate was investigated on a laboratory scale. The flocculation process was monitored by digital image analysis to determine the Particle Size Distribution (DTP), and its representative parameter β, as well as the Fractal morphology of the flakes. The correlation was investigated using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r). The results showed that the larger the β parameter, the greater the remaining residual (r ≥ 0.84), and the larger the mean particle diameters, the smaller the remaining residual (r ≤ 0,98)
