Com este trabalho pretende-se analisar exemplos de padrões deixados no nosso património histórico/cultural de influência islâmica, como por exemplo painéis de azulejos e tetos de laçaria (tetos de madeira lavrada) de igrejas e/ou palácios, para fazer o estudo da simetria neles presente, estabelecendo uma ligação entre este património e a Matemática. Na primeira parte do trabalho apresenta-se um resumo dos conceitos matemáticos necessários à classificação dos motivos, na segunda parte o que se entende como sendo Arte Islâmica e Mudéjar e a catalogação dos motivos de acordo com as simetrias que apresentam, na terceira parte apresentam-se atividades didáticas direcionadas a alunos e na última parte algumas das conclusões deste trabalho.

This work aims to analyze examples of patterns left in our historical / cultural heritage of Islamic influence, such as tile panels and alfarge ceilings (carved wooden ceilings) of churches and / or palaces, to make the study of symmetry present in them, establishing a link between this heritage and mathematics. In the first part of the work, a summary of the mathematical concepts necessary to classify the motifs is presented, in the second part what is understood to be Islamic Art and Mudéjar and the cataloging of the motifs according to the symmetries they present, in the third part they are presented didactic activities directed to students and in the last part some of the conclusions of this work.
