Description

This work project examines the differences between international and non-international companies regarding the human resources (HR) function. The issues examined involve organizational strategy, HR strategy, HR status, and the evaluation of the HR function. Using data from the 1999/2000 CRANET survey, some differences stand out between the two groups of organizations. International organizations have mission statements, organizational and HR strategies as well as HR policies which are more formalized than in non-international organizations. A higher number of these international organizations assess the performance of the HR function. However, there is no difference in the number of criteria used to evaluate the HR function.
