The main goal of this paper is to analyze the level of development in the Agribusiness of the region South from Brazil for the years of 1985, 1990 and 1995; using inter-regional input-output analysis. The results obtained show: how the Agribusiness is structured inside the region; and how the trade flows of the Agribusiness take place among the regions. The main findings of this work are: a) there was a increase in the share of the region South of 28,7% in 1985 to 29,6% in 1995 in the Brazilian's Agribusiness; b) the region South agriculture is highly advanced and integrated with others aggregate from the Agribusiness; c) the Agribusiness from the region South accounts for approximately 50% of the region's Gross Regional Product.
O objetivo principal deste artigo é analisar o nível de desenvolvimento do agronegócio ou complexo agroindustrial na Região Sul do Brasil para os anos de 1985, 1990 e 1995, utilizando matrizes de insumo-produto inter-regionais. São apresentados resultados sobre a composição e sobre as principais características dos fluxos inter-regionais do agronegócio na Região Sul. Os resultados indicam que houve um aumento na participação da Região Sul no agronegócio do Brasil de 28,7% em 1985 para 29,6% em 1995 e que a parcela deste setor no Produto Interno Bruto da Região Sul foi de pouco menos de 50% em 1995.
