The ecological information is regarded as essential to understanding the dynamics of the processes that rules the life. In the context of the dynamism of these processes, it is our focus in this thesis to investigate the relationship between information, direct perception, affordance and non-conceptual Self. We focus our study of the non-conceptual Self in researchings about perception in the context of ecological philosophy that is expressed by gibsonian anti-representationalism as well as in the field of embodied embedded cognition theory. In this context, the problem that drives our researching in this thesis is to define what is the non-conceptual Self in ecological context and to analyse, by a case study, the relationship between social affordances and tattoos as part of the study of the non-conceptual Self. It is our working hypothesis that the epistemological-informational study of the perception can contribute to researchings on the non-conceptual Self with regard to the actions of embodied embedded agents. In this context, we try to understand how the nonconceptual Self can be changed by the information that emerges from the social affordances expressed in tattoos.
A informação ecológica é considerada elemento essencial para a compreensão da dinâmica dos processos que regem a vida. No dinamismo de tais processos, nosso foco de atenção, nesta tese, é investigar a relação entre informação, percepção direta, affordance e Self não conceitual. Focalizamos o estudo do Self não conceitual nas investigações sobre percepção, no contexto da Filosofia Ecológica, a qual é expressa pelo anti-representacionismo gibsoniano, bem como nos estudos sobre a teoria da Cognição incorporada e situada. Nesse sentido, o problema direcionador das investigações desta tese consiste em (a) definir o Self não conceitual, no contexto ecológico e (b) analisar, através de um estudo de caso, a relação entre affordances sociais e tatuagens no âmbito do estudo do Self não conceitual. É nossa hipótese de trabalho que o estudo epistemológico-informacional da percepção pode contribuir para as investigações acerca do Self não conceitual no que concerne às ações de agentes situados e incorporados. É nesse contexto que procuramos entender como o Self não conceitual pode ser alterado através da informação que emerge das affordances sociais expressas nas tatuagens.
