The creation of GSA (Graffiti and Street Art) arises from the need to establish and academically define the field of graffiti and street art studies. GSA seeks to bridge this gap by providing a dedicated platform for scholarly discourse, fostering the credibility and institutional recognition of Graffiti and Street Art as legitimate research fields. Recognizing the lack of a specialized academic regular publication solely focused on graffiti and street art, GSA emerges as a response to this gap, offering a space for rigorous academic contributions that solidify the scholarly study of these artistic expressions. GSA provides a multidisciplinary platform that welcomes research from various perspectives, including but not limited to art history, urban studies, sociology, anthropology, law, and cultural studies. The journal encourages contributions from researchers, practitioners, and experts analyzing graffiti and street art’s social, historical, aesthetic, and legal dimensions. GSA Journal is internationally oriented. Graffiti and Street Art are global phenomena, shaped by diverse cultural, historical, and political contexts. The journal actively promotes research that explores the multiplicity of graffiti and street art worldwide. Its international editorial board ensures a broad, cross-cultural perspective, while its open-access model facilitates knowledge exchange across geographic and disciplinary boundaries.
