The Revista Portuguesa de História is an annual journal, the articles of which are subject to prior review by a peer review committee. It was founded in 1941 under the auspices of the António de Vasconcelos Institute, which has been known as the Institute of Economic and Social History since 1975. Since its foundation, this journal has been dedicated to publishing studies by Portuguese and foreign researchers in the field of history, ranging from antiquity to the contemporary era. The RPH is committed to disseminating the results of historical research in the fields of Portuguese and world history, in the form of articles, critical reviews and news items.
