Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Pedro de Valencia’s Discurso sobre materias del Consejo de Estado allows us to analyse the dilemma between reason and faith, between Greek rationality and Christianity, in the humanist’s political thought. Pedro de Valencia approaches the politics of the time from a biblical perspective, taking Arias Montano’s Liber generationis et regenerationis Adam, sive De historia generis humani as a basis. To this he adds reflections on morality, individual behaviour and its projection on the collective, following the philosophy of Socrates and Epictetus.
