Reflective Notes on Environmental Management Systems
| Resumo: | This text, essentially didactic in nature, aims to present some reflective notes on Environmental Management Systems (EMS). To this end, the first part offers general considerations on EMS, placing them within some of the most relevant themes and debates in 21st-century environmental law, while also seeking to highlight similarities and functional relationships between EMS and other environmental protection instruments. Part II addresses the paradigmatic implementations of EMS, with particular emphasis on the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), and also referring to the ISO 14,000 standards. |
