| Resumo: | While talking about Mário Dionísio, we must keep in mind his political position, connected with the Portuguese movement Neo-Realismo. However, when reading his poetry, mainly Terceira Idade, we can figure out that Mário Dionísio outlines that the artist goes beyond social, political and artistic movements. The poet has a major role: he must be able to wipe down the dust that covers things and words. Focusing on the surrounding things, the poet uncovers all of the hidden treasures, even if they are from an undesirable past. In any case, they must not be concealed, because the true artist is concerned with what his words are conveying, using reality, memory or fiction to bring on the brightness. |
