Resumo:In any company of the industrial sector, a lean methodology is always synonymous of waste reduction and productivity increase. The focus of this study is to propose improvements to a welding line, in an automotive company, based on lean manufacturing. The main problem is the lack of the 5S in the line and the percentage of scrap pieces/suspicions pieces. The objective of this work is the improvement of the welding line, applying the 5S technique, and also the improvement of the welding seams, reducing the number of scrap pieces and the number of suspicions pieces. The study started with a survey of the welding line status, proposing and applying the 5S technique, to eliminate waste and increase productivity. The welding parameters were also studied and analyzed along with the program implemented in the welding robot, in order to improve productivity on the line. A safer welding line, with a better environment, with less waste, having only what is necessary on the line to produce, are the mirror of the results implemented and obtained. In the same way, the improvement of the welding beads decreased the number of scrap parts and the number of stops for adjustments of the welding robot trajectory. As a support, a grounded analysis of various concepts was done based on bibliographic research/ references in lean manufacturing.
