Design thinking success factors in information technology projects

Ver documento

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This research focuses on the determinants of success in information technology (IT) projects that apply design thinking. Acknowledging that success is a multifaceted and contextually bound concept, a literature review was undertaken to characterize what does success mean in such projects. A review of scientific knowledge about design thinking, in its varied dimensions, was performed allowing for its decomposition. A survey gathered insights from professionals in the domain, yielding 52 valid responses. Furthermore, in-depth interviews with 19 experts, including design thinking specialists, technology professionals, and digital transformation leaders, enriched the research findings. The collected data illuminated the challenges associated with integrating design thinking into IT projects, provided managerial considerations, and elicited nuanced success factors. This research is a relevant contribution to the study of a proper application of design thinking to IT projects, and provides pathways for future research.
