Resumo:Due to the irresponsible actions of the human being, the planet is reaching a breaking point. However, just as we were the creators of this problem, we can also be the solution. Green consumption is proved to be an effective way to minimize the negative impact of consumption on the environment. The research related to green consumption behaviour in Portugal is still scarce. Considering this, the present study used an extended version of the Theory of Planned Behaviour, in which it was included two additional constructs (Perceived Value and Willingness to Pay Premium), to measured consumer green purchase intention and behaviour. Consumers show interest and concern for the environment and their attitudes are mostly positive, however, behaviour patterns are often not consistent with the attitudes/intentions. Therefore, it is intended to investigate the inconsistencies in consumer behaviour and analyse which are the most relevant determinants of behaviour intention regarding the Portuguese consumers. The questionnaire survey method was used to collect data from 605 Portuguese consumers via an online questionnaire, in which the data was then analysed through IBM SPSS and AMOS. The results identified Perceived Value and Attitude as the determinants that have the greatest impact on the purchase intention and, consequently, on the purchase behaviour of green products. The inconsistencies addressed, in this case study, could not be properly studied since the results were not endowed with those inconsistences that are often common in these areas of study.
