Vila de Monchique: reabilitação do território urbano
| Resumo: | Nowadays, the historic urban centres in Portugal, are attending an degradation of its buildings, public space, as well its economy and an depopulation of the locals. It is urgent that this situation should be reviewed. Monchique is a picture of that scene. Need an imperious and effective regenerative intervention. In this sense a reading of the urban fabric to better inform this intervention, ensuring the profitability and valuation of its territory is required. This paper provides the results of an analysis to the case study of Monchique, which followed the application of a specific methodology, as proposed by Luz Valente Pereira in the 90s, to address the problems of intervention in public space. The results of applying the methodology are presented here confirm and validate the use of the proposed methodology. |
