‘Sunny climes beyond the sea’: Travel and imagination in Charlotte Brontë’s juvenile Poetry
| Resumo: | This paper analyses the close relation established between the concepts of travel and imagination in the earliest writings (poetry) of Charlotte Brontë. It discusses, in particular, the importance of English colonial spaces and of British imperial history and characters in the creative process of the author. |
