Behaviour of RC beams shear strengthening with NSM CFRP laminates

Resumo:The effectiveness of the Near Surface Mounted (NSM) technique with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) laminates for the shear strengthening of T cross section reinforced concrete (RC) beams is assessed by experimental research. The influence of the percentage and inclination of CFRP laminates on the shear strengthening contribution was evaluated. The experimental program also includes beams strengthened according to the externally bonded reinforcement (EBR) technique in order to compare the effectiveness of NSM and EBR shear strengthening strategies.
