Resumo:[Excerpt] The mineralogical evolution of mine waste under supergene conditions reflects complex interactions among the original paragenesis, climatic regime, environmental setting, and anthropogenic influences resulting from exploitation, beneficiation, and closure methods. This study characterizes secondary mineral assemblages formed in diverse mine waste environments, using case studies from northern to southern Portugal (Covas, Cerquido, Penedono, Jales, Preguiça, São Domingos, Aljustrel) and selected international sites (e.g., Trimpancho, Tharsis, and Riotinto in Spain, Santander in Colombia).
