Resumo:Art finds itself infinitely connected to technology, or on an even deeper level, humanity itself is dependent on technology. Limitation engenders creativity, our abilities raised to new levels thanks to development born of necessity. Technology provides an ever-faster advancement of our lives, or lifecycle, transitional spaces in our suddenly changing everyday lives, brought about by the most advanced weapons of mass destruction and the accelerating speed of information. The attention market in which we live makes all information eternal, filed and sung by the “bards of the internet”, but also ephemeral. Among thousands of data produced and exposed in a continuous timeline that gives them explosive live for mere seconds, until the inevitable drag caused by the continuous production of the posts cycle. A constant input of stimuli puts us in virtual reality, a digital world that covers our reality. With this work, I seek to investigate the relationship between technology and the human, the image and the physical space, as this affected my personal development and my artistic work. From my first contact with technology during my formative years, my thinking and methods influenced until the culmination in the artistic project that I also present and explore here. A video installation project based on the appropriation and modification of existing images through processes digital that make them unrecognizable, and that translates into a fusion between physical and technological, between the real and the virtual world. How genuine are these experiences? Is there a separation between a virtual simulation and the reality that is experienced? What is the nature of image in a digital world? In the present work, we study and reflect on these issues.
