| Resumo: | The project work focuses on the relevance of “Casa do Forno”, present in the historic city of Castelo Branco, and their contribution to the local population, taking into account the historical and socio-cultural context of the city. We analyze the limits of the walls, the urban design, the streets, the housing typologies present in the city's historic district to understand the experiences of that location. From this analysis, we intend to showcase and preserve the culture of the city to a contemporary intervention in the “Casa do Forno”, respecting users' needs, the legislation and the health issues of the building. The study of roof slope was the major challenge of the project whose absence of windows is notorious in the configuration of the building. The small areas, the rocks and the details present in the “Casa do Forno” underscore the view of those who enter there, being the most important element the oven, not only for its great size, but also because it is made of original stones should be preserved. In this sense, this project proposes to rehabilitate and upgrade the quoted building taking into account the issues of health and thermal comfort in order to integrate it in the promotion of place in tourism |
