| Resumo: | Digital short-term rental platforms have revolutionized the entire tourism market, becoming a reality in different parts of the world. In Portugal, this new form of accommodation has assumed an important position in the national market, with characteristics that make it particularly attractive to the users of such platforms. In this context, this dissertation is based on the deepening of the study on Design for Local Accommodation. The relationships and interactions that are consequences of the new means of communication and technology have provided tourists with the enjoyment of new experiences, thereby creating different trends in accommodation and interactions with regard to the tourism sector. Contextualizing the phenomenon of the Airbnb digital rental platform, the aim of this study is to demonstrate the contribution of interior design as a key element in the enhancement of spaces for the purpose of Local Accommodation. To this end, were studied in depth, throughout this study, issues related to the life of the village in which the conceptualized accommodation is located, the Aldeia da Mina de São Domingos, in the Alentejo region of Portugal. Having its historical and cultural context applied in a proposal for the village houses, the project is inspired by the simplicity of the workers life and the cultural traits of the village, combined with trends in design and tourist hospitality. In the practical application of the study, an interior design project will be presented, proposing solutions that respond to the innovations present in design through the rehabilitation project of a typical building with the purpose of a Local Accommodation model. Considering the solutions in the user's interaction with the space and cultural and social factors, the project intends to contribute to the enhancement and improvement of this type of building, in order to provide better experiences for the owner and tourists |
