Well-being in tourism is an emerging area of interest because of its recognised role as a catalyst for economic growth. In the literature, well-being includes economic, environmental, and health well-being. But although it is a topic of economic interest, the literature is still scattered. As such, this study aims to advance the discussion on tourism well-being in economic development and growth through a systematic literature review articulated to a bibliometric analysis employing bibli- ographic coupling and cluster analysis. Thus, recourse was made to the Web of Science database, where 100 articles were collected and subsequently subjected to the selection process. Finally, 57 manuscripts were selected and reverted into six thematic groups. These thematic groups reflect the themes of (i) strategies for developing medical tourism, (ii) external inhibitors to tourism development, (iii) impacts of welfare on tourism development, (iv) human development as a driver of economic growth, (v) sustainable tourism development for economic growth, and (vi) tourisms contribution to community well-being. The results suggest strategies on how well-being in tourism can be used to generate better economic outcomes. Through mapping, the literature, gaps, and opportunities for future research in this area were identified.
