This article aims to present some contributions from the articulation between poetry and mathematics to promote literary and linguistic skills in 5-year-old children. To this end, developed in the context of pre-school education within the scope of a qualitative study, two learning paths are analyzed. The learning paths are based on the poems OVO AVE VOO VOA by Abílio-José Santos (1968) and Fresquinho, freguês by Nuno Higino (2008). As results of the study, the contributions found stand out at the level of development of the notion of word and letter, reading and writing skills, as well as self-perception of competence and ability to use reading and writing. It is considered that the articulation strategies and the analysis of the paths presented converge towards the construction of scientific knowledge about the articulation between literary and linguistic education and mathematical education through poetry.
O presente artigo objetiva apresentar alguns contributos da articulação entre a poesia e a matemática para a promoção de competências literárias e linguísticas com crianças de 5 anos. Para isso, analisam-se dois percursos de aprendizagem desenvolvidos em contexto de educação pré-escolar, no âmbito de um estudo qualitativo. Os percursos têm por base os poemas OVO AVE VOO VOA de Abílio-José Santos (1968) e Fresquinho, freguês de Nuno Higino (2008). Como resultados do estudo, destacam-se os contributos encontrados ao nível do desenvolvimento da noção de palavra e de letra, de competências de leitura/escrita, bem como da autoperceção de competência e capacidade de usar a leitura e a escrita. Considera-se que as estratégias de articulação e a análise dos percursos apresentados confluem para a construção de conhecimento científico acerca da articulação entre educação literária e linguística e educação matemática através da poesia.
