The aim of this Dossier – «Literature, Arts and Hypertext on the Web» – is to provide the academic community with a range of readings, seeking to fulfill two primary objectives: on the one hand, to understand the dialogue between aesthetic manifestations and to understand how these, transcending canons, approach a global cultural expression that compromises the local manifestation and the local and traditional substantiation of those; on the other hand, to understand – in a context dominated by the crisis of the traditional idea of ??the Humanities – in which terms the globalization favored by technological development and multimedia processes has contributed to the contours of new semiotic and pragmatic configurations of aesthetic-literary productions.

Procura-se, com o presente Dossiê – «Literatura, Artes e Hipertexto na Web» –, disponibilizar à comunidade académica um leque de leituras, procurando cumprir dois objetivos primordiais: por um lado, entender o diálogo entre as manifestações estéticas e perceber até que ponto estas, transcendendo cânones, se aproximam de uma expressão cultural global que comprometa a manifestação local e a substancialização local e tradicional das mesmas; por outro, compreender – num contexto geral dominado pela crise da ideia tradicional das Humanidades – em que termos a globalização favorecida pelo desenvolvimento tecnológico e pelos processos de multimidialidade tem concorrido para os contornos de novas configurações semióticas e pragmáticas das produções estético-literárias.
