Este texto apresenta a versão escrita da conferência proferida no I Congresso Internacional de Investigação e Experiência Educativa, realizado no Centro Universitário Adventista de São Paulo (Unasp) em 2020. Aborda a temática da educação no período da pandemia Covid-19 descrevendo como surgiu a doença, como se espalhou, como reagiram as pessoas e os governos, bem como os impactos na educação a nível mundial. Refere em seguida a opinião da autora sobre os fenômenos educativos e sociais que a pandemia pôs a descoberto e destaca o modo como as escolas e os professores souberam adaptar-se à nova realidade. Também comenta como será necessário agir no período pós-pandêmico, um período em que se espera uma grande aceleração das transformações que já eram sentidas no mundo e que exigem novas capacidades, novas competências e uma nova educação.

This text presents the written version of the keynote presented at the 1st International Education Congress, held at São Paulo Adventist University College (Unasp) in 2020. It addresses the theme of education in the period of the pandemic Covid-19 describing how the disease arose, how it spread, how people and governments reacted and what are the impacts on education worldwide. The author expresses her opinion on the educational and social phenomena that the pandemic has uncovered and highlights the way in which schools and teachers have been able to adapt to the new reality. She comments on how it will be necessary to act in the post-pandemic period, a period in which we expect a great acceleration of the transformations that were already in course in the world and that demand new capacities, new skills and a new education.
