The text presents the work process developed in the context of project ParticipArt – Creation, Community and Development, which took place in historic center of Seixal with the partnership of the Cultural Association L1B. The intervention focused on research about memory of places, workmanship and living experiences of the local community, included the participation of students and graduate students of Visual Arts and Technologies degree, and Artistic and Cultural Mediation degree of Superior School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon.Through practices associated with Street Art or Community-based Art, some approaches to local issues were proposed. These approaches, within the scope of visual and performative arts (music and theatre), centre around the passing of collective memory of places or labour, taking into account the sharing of social, creative, technical and artistic knowledge as well as the expression of intersubjectivities. In this sense, connections were developed between the subjects of industrial labour memory, rural-urban migrations and collective construction of identities, connected to the places. The work process was developed in articulation with the “Becos e Esquinas” (corners and alleys) project, proposed by L1B e comprehended the making of a multidisciplinary show with the title “Amanhã temos bom dia” (Tomorrow we’ll have a good day) and plural artistic interventions in the urban space.
O texto apresenta o processo de trabalho realizado no âmbito do projeto ParticipART – Criação, Comunidade e Desenvolvimento, cujo contexto de intervenção foi o centro histórico do Seixal e teve como parceira a Associação Cultural L1B. A intervenção incidiu na investigação sobre a memória dos espaços, do trabalho e das vivências da comunidade local e contou com a participação de estudantes e diplomados do curso de Artes Visuais e Tecnologias (AVT) e Mediação Artística e Cultural (MAC), da Escola Superior de Educação (ESELx) do Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa.Através das práticas associadas à Street Art ou Community-Based Art foram propostas abordagens no âmbito das artes visuais e das artes performativas (música e teatro) a problemáticas locais que envolvem a transmissão da memória coletiva dos lugares ou do trabalho operário, tendo em conta a partilha de saberes sociais, criativos, técnicos, artísticos, bem como a expressão de intersubjetividades. Neste sentido, foram desenvolvidas as ligações entre a problemática da memória do trabalho industrial a deslocação das zonas rurais para os espaços urbanos e a construção coletiva das identidades ligadas aos lugares. O processo de trabalho articulou-se ainda com o projeto “Becos e Esquinas”, proposto pela associação L1B e envolveu a realização de um espetáculo multidisciplinar intitulado “Amanhã temos bom dia” e intervenções artísticas em espaço urbano.
