HONG KONG'S PSYCHOGEOGRAPHIES: IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE
| Summary: | This work intends to analyze the psychogeographical characteristics of Hong Kong and to determine their influence on the cinema of this region. Seeking, above all, to understand the relationships between these characteristics and the aesthetic choices of Wong Kar-Way in the film "In the Mood for Love" (2000): the absence of wide shots; the absence of natural light; the absence of the characters privacy; their obsession with food and cinema (in the 60's, when the story runs, this industry had an annual average of 90 million viewers). |
